My name is Claire and thank you for taking the time to visit my online store.
The clickety click of knitting needles and the hum of my mum's old Singer sewing machine was the soundtrack to growing at home as a child. My mum made our clothes and knitted our jumpers for all six of us. I would say my love of making things and creativity comes from her.
I studied surface design and printed textiles at Glasgow School of Art. I have had many creative jobs before setting up Clarabella on a rickety sewing machine in 2007, window dresser, set designer, prop maker to name a few. I have grown my business as my kids became more independent.
This is my collection of homewares and accessories called 'Hometown'. Inspired by the architecture I see from my studio window. My design studio is in the oldest building in Dunfermline, the 15th century Abbot House or 'Pink House' as it is know, in the heart of the historic quarter.
My prints are all digitally printed on high quality materials and depict the many beautiful and diverse architecture of my hometown.
All my homewares are handmade to order by me in my studio.
